WHY DO WE USE A CHEESY ❤️ AS OUR LOGO?
Hey Kitchen Family,
So, I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes our little spot in Cabo so special, and it all comes down to one word: hospitality. I mean, it’s not just about serving up killer food or pouring that perfect cocktail (though, let’s be real, those help!). It’s about making every single person who walks through our doors feel like they’re home, like they’re loved. And yeah, I know that sounds kinda cheesy, but bear with me here.
Two books that totally shaped how we do things at Kitchen are Setting the Table by Danny Meyer and Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. Danny talks about this idea of “enlightened hospitality”—putting your team and guests first, creating moments that stick with people long after they leave. Will takes it even further, pushing for “unreasonable” acts of kindness, like, going above and beyond just because it feels right. These guys get it, you know? They’re all about creating connections, not just transactions.
And that brings me to our logo—that bold red heart you see everywhere. It’s not just a cute design choice (though I think it’s pretty damn cute). That heart is our promise. It’s us saying, “We’re gonna pour our whole selves into making your time here warm, real, and unforgettable.” Whether it’s remembering your favorite dish, throwing in a little extra sangria on a hot day, or just sharing a laugh with you at the bar, that red heart reminds us to lead with love. It’s our vibe, our soul, our why.
We’re not perfect—sometimes we spill a drink or forget a side (oops, human alert!). But we’re always chasing that heart-led hospitality, inspired by Danny and Will, to make Kitchen a place where you feel cared for, like you’re part of our family. So, next time you’re here, know that red heart’s beating for you. Thanks for letting us share it with you.
With all the love,
The Kitchen San José del Cabo Crew
