Mariscos y Sashimis Don Fabio: one of my favorite places to enjoy a good portion of tuna sashimi. Nothing fancy, but always super fresh. Try the regular with tuna, onion, cucumber, and avocado or the mixed with cooked/raw shrimp.
Carr. Transpeninsular, El Zacatal, 23430 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
Cuarenta Seafood: a must-visit for locals. Located on Forjadores, don’t miss the seared tuna sashimi, the forty taco with marlin, and the special or mango ceviche. You won’t regret it.
Boulevard Forjadores, El Aguajito, 23443 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
La Lupita Taco y Mezcal: If you’re looking for something more casual and in the heart of San José, this place offers a great variety of gourmet tacos and artisanal mezcals. Don’t miss the Wagyu Tostadas on their mini grill, the favorite al pastor tacos, the tuna and wakame, and drunken barbeque.
Jose Maria Morelos s/n, Gallery District, Centro, 23400 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
Las Guacamayas: you’ll find the best al pastor tacos here. Try the beef rib tacos, and the traditional quekas on the Comal. A spot regularly visited by locals and tourists for its great variety of sauces and extensive menu.
C. P.º de los Marinos s/n, Mauricio Castro, 23401 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
Carbón Cabrón: if I could describe this place, I’d say it’s phenomenal, decorated with wood and resembling a steak house. Chef Poncho Cadena bets on a wood-fired menu. Don’t miss the Charcoal Vegetables, the Heirloom Salad, and the Short Rib.
Boulevard Cerro Colorado, México 1 Kilómetro 24.5, 23400 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
Micheladas “Los Plebes”: here you’ll find the best Micheladas in town, from the regular with sauces, beef jerky, shrimp, and even chips. Ideal for a hot afternoon or before a meal.
Koi: if you’re craving Japanese food. Koi is a local favorite. Try the Japan Roll, the sushi cakes, the spicy tuna, and the salmon and eel nigiri.
Campo de Golf, Calle Boulevard Antonio Mijares, Condominio Cactus 1092-local 2, Centro, 23406 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
El Pisito San Jose: an authentic spot for homemade food, everything you try from chilaquiles, crispy tacos, beef broth, is delicious. Don’t miss the tortilla soup!
Mauricio Castro 909, 05 de Febrero, 23406 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
Gorditas Torreón: a classic for years in San José. If you’re a fan of flour gorditas, don’t miss the ones with strips of pepper and cheese! There are also corn gorditas, and the most recommended are with minced meat, pork cracklings in red sauce, chorizo, and the typical bean with cheese. Don’t miss the red sauce with lemon.
P.º de los Marinos, Centro, 23443 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., México
